University College Cork invites applications for an experienced Senior Research Fellow to lead a new high impact four-year research project in the area of financial services technology. This role is an exceptional opportunity for you to be part of a high performing and innovative research group, incorporating academic and industry experts, focused on providing innovative solutions in partnership with a world leading FinTech firm, and publishing in world leading scientific journals.
The Senior Research Fellow will work with four internationally renowned Professors from Cork University Business School and the Boole Centre for Research in Informatics (Professor Joe Feller, Professor Philip O’Reilly, Professor John Morrison and Professor Mark Hutchinson) and manage a team of twelve researchers, under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Professor Philip O’Reilly.
The Senior Research Fellow will have substantial experience in research and project management, an excellent record of producing high quality peer reviewed publications, and success in obtaining research funding, including large funds for research teams and infrastructure. Experience in knowledge transfer and commercialisation is also required.
The Senior Research Fellow may have some teaching and mentoring duties. The post holder will be evaluated through a systematic and continuous professional development and appraisal system.

Location: the research team will be located in the Fexco offices in County Kerry, where the post holder will be required to spend the majority of his/her time.

Salary: €65,414 - €70,200. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
