As a qualified accountant, you’re highly organised and already have lots of low-level, hands-on accounting experience.  You already have one person carrying out low-mid level accounting tasks and you will manager their work.  There’s a separately managed and supervised collections team and your team will liaise with, and support, their work too. You’re not afraid of work, problem solving or designing accounting systems and consolidated group accounting. More’s the point, you also ‘get risk’, you understand it, know how to manage and mitigate it and report on it, because you can ‘do it in your sleep’.  As a financial trading exchange, things move very fast around here, so if you can’t cope with fast decision making, deadlines and quick turnarounds, this job isn’t for you.  Tens of thousands of transactions each week, involving money movements in the tens of millions, means you need a sharp eye, a steady hand and know where to focus your time.  Of course you’re highly organised, can use Excel properly and now is your chance to really boost your career.  You don’t have to be young and full of energy, but you do need to be a dynamic, fully capable person with maturity, who has the experience to know what needs to be done. Essential Experience:

*     Excellent MS Office skills, advanced Excel, Power Point and Word

*     Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

*     Exceptional attention to detail

*     Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures

*     Hands on and ‘can do’ approach

Examples of Your Input & Supervision:

*       Bank Reconciliations daily and/or weekly

*       Trading accounts (per trader) reconciliations

*       Bank Direct Debit analysis inflows and outflows

*       Running Direct Debits

*       Bank analysis for unusual transactions

*       Supplier payment verification

*       Running supplier payments

*       Originator account reconciliations

*       Resolving various Originator queries

*       Profit and loss analysis, fluctuation analysis from last few years to current.

*       Balance Sheet analysis, fluctuation analysis from last few years to current

*       Each Nominal Account Reconciliation

*       Analysis and Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register

*       To build and maintain lease asset register

*       To build and maintain Loan register

*       Monthly Payroll preparation

*       Filing yearly P35 & monthly P30’s

*       Filing P45’s

*       Filing bi-monthly VAT3 return

*       Responding to various Revenue queries

*       VAT Analysis, identification of back to back invoice.

*       Build system to lock VAT period for accurate VAT reporting

*       Preparation of weekly Accounts

*       Preparation of monthly Depreciation and payroll journal’s

*       Record management

*       Managing and reconciling data from trading system to accounting system

*       Fees & commissions management across 1,000s of accounts

*       Accounting support to credit control


Very nice to have:
